FAA 333 Exemption, 107 License

Drones have been in the news lately - don't let your name be in the subtitle!  As technology improves and drones are more accessible, it is critical that drone pilots be held responsible and observe safety regulations.

PAAP Drones was one of the first Minnesota companies to be granted a 333 Exemption by the FAA.  We operate under a strict set of rules that structure our business and keep our community safe. Now that the FAA has released Part 107, our pilots will operate under this new set of rules.

Commercial drone use is defined by the FAA as anything other than hobby flying, this includes photos for marketing, promotion, or other use, even if there is no charge for the service.  Commercial drone use must be approved by the FAA and drone pilots must be licensed by the FAA, insured, and licensed as a commercial operator by MNDoT.  There are a number of controlled airspaces in the Minneapolis Metro.  FAA 107 licensed drone pilots must have FAA paperwork authorizing them to fly in controlled airspace, at any altitude.

Help us keep the skies safe and report unsafe drone flights to the police or FAA.

Commercially Licensed Pilots:

As a holder of the FAA's 333 Exemption and 107 License, PAAP Drones adheres to FAA regulations.  One of these rules is that our drones must be flown by an FAA pilot licensed in a manned aircraft. Airspace, weather, aerodynamics, and a thorough understanding of basic Federal Aviation Regulations is imperative.

Each member of the Precision Approach Team is a pilot with countless hours of experience in both manned and unmanned aircraft, making our team one of the highest qualified and most experienced in the region.
